Sandy M. Baron

I found my passion in weaving after exploring many art forms. With degrees in Interior/Kitchen Design and Textile Science (MS), weaving became my outlet for combining my talents. In 1996 I attended my first class in floor loom weaving and haven't put my shuttle down since that time. I weave tallitot (Judaic prayer shawls) by commission as well as creating hand woven items for the home.

Recently, I have begun to stretch the conventional boundaries of woven structures, distorting shapes and working with non-traditional color combinations. In one of my pieces, I have added discontinuous warp lengths, representing Life & Loss. I continue to explore more creative and 'Arty' forms of weaving.
