Lucy Rose Fischer
I paint upside-down, inside-out, and backwards on hand blown glass. My designs are colorful and spiritual, whimsical and serious. In one piece, I give thanks for making me a woman, transposing an Orthodox blessing for men who praise God for not making them a woman. In other artworks, an African-pregnant Eve is mother to all life, a home is filled with “sweet ghosts,” and a woman (myself) breathes in the universe. Before launching my art career, I was a sociologist with a specialty in aging. I’m the author of six books and have won awards for my research, writing and art. I am the Co-founder and Coordinator of the Interfaith Artist Circle. www.lucyrosedesigns.com
